The Independents - Upstairs Second Floor
You, and whomever else that has music to spin. Yeah! Bring your music! Pro's, and Amature's! We'll set up a sign in sheet, to be moderated by our referee, Pinky! Half hour sets, and three sets maximum for each person, unless the ref says otherwise. Because, he makes the rules, as he sees fit. Battle to show, that your really not just shooting your mouth off to your friends, that your a "DJ". And if you're good enough, you might just win, a guest spot on the main dance floor, for next month! You read that right, a guest spot with Digiron, and Vandal in September!

Our manifesto:
The real world sucks. Poverty under the heels of the super-rich. Lousy heathcare. Polluted enviorment. High gas prices. The terrorist are out to get you. Your government is out to get you worse. Deadly diseases with no cures. Wars without any end in sight. And Geogre W. Bush is STILL the president.

Yeah, it's enough to get us angry too. But we have an outlet, that we want to share with you angry lot. And we call it Battle Royale! We're gonna play hard industrial, EBM, power noize, trance, or whatever the hell is YOUR fight song! Anything to release that pent up anger, fustration, and desire to destroy. So come on down to the Rawhide SF, and drink, dance, maybe even mosh a little. It's time to find the soundtrack, for the revolution that never came.

I am interested in mainly using CD's. But may want a mixer that is more than 2 channels (probably 4 channels) as I have a working turntable, a Linneartech BD-1600 phase II.

So I am interested in a 4-channel mixer, 2 CD players and all necessary accompanying equipment. I am seeking advice from folks in this tribe on what to purchase, and if anyone knows where I can get equipment in the SF Bay area that would be great.
Any suggestions on good beginning equipment?

However, these were single mp3s just played back to back, no fading or beat matching or other techniques usually heard in a club setting. The only way to bypass this, other then going live, is to record a set as a single mp3. I then thought it would be more fun to have other DJs also particapate.

So, if you would like to submit, I am looking for 30 minute sets, recorded as a single mp3 at 128 kbps.

Attn: All Dj's or club promoters out there, interested in recieving the new FISCHERSPOONER promo single

Im helping a friend of mine out at Capitol Records, who is putting together servicing/mailing list for goth/industrial/electro DJ's, for the new FISCHERSPOONER single and full length release, as well as other possible darker dance artists in the future.

At this point the first mailing is going to be set up for the second week of December for a new FISCHERSPOONER track(Promotional Only single/remixes), including a mix by the Thin White Duke, which is a very synthpoppy remix (from my understanding). The first mailing will be about 200 DJ's, while the second could be much larger depending on the response.

The album itself doesn't drop until march, so there is a good chance a second single will come your way too, the list will not be sold off, etc it will be something that only he holds
onto. With support of the new singles, there is a good possibility of release parties, etc. for your club nights prior to the release of the full length in March.

I'm helping him right now, so his work email doesn't get flooded right now. Although he will contact every person that ends up on the listing that contacts through me first..

So what he is requesting for servicing:

Name:
DJ Name:
Physical mailing address(No PO Boxes for it will be UPS'd):
Email addy:
club(s)/Nights you spin on a regular basis (AKA an overall resume):
Contact information for the club (Just a phone . would suffice so he can
double check with the club):

He is just trying to make sure that we get people on board that actually DJ on a regular basis for when he reports back to his bosses about the mailing.

Over all this could cause servicing from some large indie labels and majors, that put out dance tracks over time, but your never going to receive something like Kylie Minogue or Brittney's new 'remix' because he's been in the scene for over 10 years and knows what your expecting and might possibly spin.

If you would prefer not to give out a physical mailing address until he contacts you, that is fine, but we still need the other information so he can contact the legitimate DJ's.

Also if you know people who aren't on this forum, please feel free to pass this note along with them, we are trying to make sure no one is really left behind that wants to get the promo stuff ahead of time.

Contact me here @: thermal_detonator@hotmail.com

*DO NOT RESPOND TO ME HERE ON TRIBE*
