Ostensibly a new stylus would prevent this, so long as the vinyl itself is in good shape, but why does it happen on certain brand-new pressings anyway? Is it a stylus weight issue? Too light? Too heavy? The kind of stylus I use? I've noticed on some of my pals' systems this doesn't happen, clear as CD sound all the way through the record...
